I love adventures, even small ones. My vices are good beer, trivia nights and a really good meal. I grew up in the midwest and escaped to the West Coast after college where I work as a freelance marketer and photographer. I also have my own fashion blog (www.whimsysoul.com)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I first tried out CS when I traveled alone across Ireland and have been hooked ever since. The people I've meet through CS are amazing, some I still keep in contact with. I've seen cities and cultures like a local, and hope to one day be able to share my own city with travelers.

Interests

Traveling (duh), photography, cooking and then eating, blogging, hiking, trivia nights, trying new beers, vineyard hopping in Napa Valley and pretending like I know what I'm talking about when it comes to wine. Comedy shows, watching sunsets, fashion and art.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: 80's movies, anything that makes me laugh.

Music: I've been really into covers and remixes lately.

Books: My favorites are Watership Down, The Stand, Jane Eyre, and Catcher in the Rye. But I read anything and everything.

TV: The Office, How I Met Your Mother, 30 Rock, Parks and Rec, Bones, Criminal Minds, Friends.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

-Jumped into Lake Monona in Madison, Wisconsin in February (while it was snowing) for the polar plunge.
-I have visited Aztec, Incan and Mayan ruins.
-While on a class tour in the Vatican I fainted and had a seizure. Not sure if that is amazing, but it sure was an experience.
-Road-tripped across the United States. Dang, my country is BIG!
-And I hugged Michelle Obama!
