About Me
Hey guys!
I'm Karel, a veterinary doctor who grew up in Belgium. On my profile picture, you see me (right) with my partner, Philip (left). Like everyone else on this platform, we like to travel and getting to know other countries, cultures and habits.
We're both super outgoing and love learning by doing. We're both foodies and love to share our culture by telling stories and showing Brussels. We recently moved to Brussels, so we are not complete experts yet, but like to discover the city with you!
Currently, we're living in Schaarbeek, a more residential area, just outside the city center. You can easily get to the city center from our home: it is a 15 min walk and additional 10 min ride on the subway (station Schuman), or you can take one of the shared bikes parked in our streets and bike to the city center in 10 minutes. Our home is also easily accessible if you'll arrive from Brussels International Aiport in Zaventem. If we're free, we can pick you up/drop you off. Or you can take the train to Brussels-north station or Brussels Shuman station. Both are a 15 min walk from our home. Better to avoid Brussels-north if you have a lot of luggage, as it is a steep walk from there.
At the moment we have a guest room/storage room where you can sleep, but you can also sleep on a big air bed (2p) in our living room, which is more spacious!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
We got to know couchsurf as a couple last year,, during the summer of 2017, when we biked from Brussels to the south of France. We enjoyed every minute and wanted to thank our hosts. In the end of August, we will get back on our bikes and bike to Rome, Italy. Because we got to enjoy that amazing hospitality, we're hoping to do something back to the community.
