Overview
About Me
We're a happy couple who love good food, cooking and exploring new places and cuisines. I also enjoy a good bottle of wine. We work from home so one of us is around just of the time.
Charlton adores golf and I adore to write fiction. I love yoga.
We live on the outskirts of London. It takes half an hour on the train to be at Liverpool Street, approx 15 to Stratford and the O2.
We're both non smokers, simple explorers and not party animals although we do love to socialise.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
We love meeting new people. One of the best parts about our job is meeting and having in depth conversations with people we wouldn't ordinarily meet on such a personal basis. CS is an extension of the same.
Interests
We're a married couple and will always travel together. Charlton is originally from South Africa and I'm from the UK. We love meeting new people from all walks of life.
We have our own massage and reflexology business and love helping clients improve their health. I'm also an author of romantic mystery and suspense books. I do this while Charlton plays golf.
Were doing this because we want to enjoy life while we have time. We both gave up jobs to take a more relaxed approach to life and its wonderful but we work when our friends are off and vice versa so catching up can be tricky. We love meeting new people, and can't think of a better way to see the world while repaying the favour at home.

Music, Movies, and Books
General mainstream music, books and films. We're intelligent but not heavy.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Just one. Eek!
Going out in my brother in laws bass boat at a misty sunrise in the swamps and being centimetres from gators.
But we have more.
We camped under the stars in Namibia for our honeymoon, climbed sand dunes at midday and ate directly from the sea.
Karen travelled to India with her brother (before Charlton) and we rafted rafted and made camp in the river beds on a night chatting over open fires.
And then theres the times that we don't 'do' anything. We sit by the fire and we chat for hours about shit that means nothing and yet everything.
Teach, Learn, Share
We love to cook so we can teach you how to make the perfect Yorkshire pudding, or you can teach us your local dishes. And then we share :)
What I Can Share with Hosts
It depends on who they are. One size doesn't fit all but we can keep out of your way or this can be immersive where we socialise and work out how the trip works for us all. Were happy for both. And of course if you're good enough to put us up we'll look after your place and clean and tidy after ourselves. Likewise if you come to us, then we'd like the same please.
Depending where we are we'd like to offer you a meal to say thank you, either in or out depending on how the trip is planning out.
*BASIC RULES*
-------------
I've realised some thing are pretty obvious to most people, but not to everyone, so here's my Couchsurfing 101!
+ Please be accurate about who is coming. Some people wait until the very last minute and say they've got an extra person coming with them. This isn't fair, please don't do it. If I say yes to you/your group then it's because I've read your profile and references and think I'll enjoy your company/learn from you. I want you to come, not you + a random person! :) [Thankfully only 1 in 10 people do this]
+ Whilst I like helping people out who are stuck for somewhere to stay at the last minute, I much prefer to have people come with plenty of notice, and stay for a couple of days so we can become friends, and enjoy a relaxing time together. I don't really want to be a "free hostel", where you come at the last minute and leave the next morning.
+ There's no need to bring any sleeping bags, tents, duvets, pillows or anything. You will have a comfortable double bed with fresh clean sheets. I can even be able to lend you a towel.
+ I can provide breakfast. Usually I go out with my couchsurfers for a dinner or we cook together.
+ And finally, if you want to surf my couch, please use the proper couch request system rather than just sending me a message. If you send me a message I'll simply ignore it, it really isn't hard to use the site properly :)
If you put "Hey hey Karen" in your request to me I'll know right away that you've read this, and it will massively increase your chances of getting a yes ;-)
