ABOUT ME
Hi, I'm Karen. I'm a New Yorker, been living here most of my life. I work in software engineering, working on amazing software that people use every day. I like geeks and non-geeks alike.
I love to travel but lately have been having difficulty finding travel partners, so would love to be able to make new friends on my own. This site seems very exciting (and a little scary) to me. Looking forward to having some new adventures :)
PHILOSOPHY
I'm working on being more open, to try random things, to see and explore and get out of the city as much as I can.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One of my most memorable experiences the past year was driving through the rain forests in Maui. We drove along the road to Hana and at one point saw a huge wall of bamboo covering the side of the cliffs facing the sea. I've never seen so much bamboo, they were such a beautiful emerald green, it was mesmerizing.
Also in Maui we drove up to the Haleakala national park, to the highest point on the island. It's amazing how different it is from the other parts of the island so quiet and still, and the air so thin. We had spectacular views of the mountains/volcanic areas, but my favorite part was seeing the clouds from 10000 feet. We were on eye-level with them, I'd never been so close to before, it was like being in another world.
