About Me

I am coming to the end of my working life and will have more time to spare soon. Have always liked the idea of putting folks up for cheap on their travels.
I've lived in quite a few houses and done the most part of it alone, plus having two sons who are now grown up. They do some travelling and I would like to, sort of indirectly pay back some of the hospitality they have received, as have I.

My interests are in ecology and recycling. My house is very very basic with only the bare minimum of comforts. Small solar panel system so off the power grid (I shower IF the sun shines!) I have never had a car so any home improvements get done if neighbours/friends feel like helping with transport! I'm a beginner with veg growing but really want to make the garden a permaculture one eventually. I am a green smoothie maniac and of course vegetarian.

Looking for someone with the knowhow for building a rocket mass heater. Done some Vipassana meditation courses and am a qualified yoga teacher with BWY.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Well, as stated above, we need to repay the worlds' kindness and be generally open to travellers and people looking to broaden their horizons.
I have heard many good stories about the" couchsurfing" phenomenon and figure I'll try it out. Maybe I can restart some of my own travels too, and find a comfy couch.

Interests

Eco housing. Building with cob. Upcycling everything, furniture, clothes.
Permaculture. Rocket mass heaters. Eating weeds. Alternative nutrition and ayurveda. Agnihotra. (I do it every day) Off grid living. James Evans Bomar III,
alternative news medias for what's really going on out there.
