Overview
About Me
I'm an open-minded and optimistic person and I have a wide range of interests: I like singing, climbing, bouldering, biking, baking, cooking, reading, music, hiking and I'm always on the lookout to figure out and learn new things and meet new people. I'm also a big fan of table top games, pen-and-paper roleplaying games and card games.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
When visiting new places, I love meeting new people. And while I love meeting other travelers in hostels, I usually prefer meeting locals and getting the opportunity to discover their - for me new an unknown - home from their perspective. I prefer seeing even a small fraction of a place, but learning something about the personal meaning it has to someone, than visiting many places that a guidebook told me to visit. ;-)
----my past couchsurfin experince ----
I started out couchsurfing on my travels with friends, first using their accounts for shared requests. That's why I only have few references so far. But I have made nothing but good experiences :)
Interests
There are two things that I enjoy most.
The first is spending time with other people, both people that are close to me and that I've known for a long time and people that are - like me - interested in getting to know new people, having good conversations and making new friends.
The second is learning new skills, getting to know unknown perspectives, opinions and ideas and in general: discovering what I have not known before.
Other than that, I love studying psychology. I like climbing, singing, reading, pen and paper, tabletop and card games, improv, cooking, baking, biking... in short: lots of different things.
Music, Movies, and Books
I love every kind of art: literature, music, fine arts, performance, film, but mostly: theatre. I don't watch a lot of movies for I go to the theatre way more often to watch plays.
My music taste is a little weird: I love very different styles and bands, from a capella over medieval rock, goth rock, hip hop, rap and folk to musicals and I'm always open to discovering new music styles that fascinate me.
When it comes to books I love reading plays but enjoy basically anything as long as I deem it well written.
From the top of my head here is a (pretty random) list of pieces of literature that I have enjoyed during the last couple of years: Tuesdays with Morrie (Mitch Albom), An upheaval (Anton Tschechow), Hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy (Dougla Adams), Lord of the rings (J.R.R. Tolkien), The daughter of time (Elizabeth Mackintosh), Harry Potter (J.K. Rowling), Maria Stuart (Friedrich Schiller), der gute Mensch von Sezuan & die heilige Johanna der Schlachthöfe & die Dreigroschenoper & die Maßnahme & Leben des Galilei (Bertold Brecht), Sherlock Holmes (Arthur Conan Doyle), Die Physiker ; Der Richter und sein Henker (Friedrich Dürrenmatt), Unterleuten (Juli Zeh), Fun Home (Alison Bechdel), The color purple (Alice Walker), Die Pest (Albert Camus), A Midsummer Night's Dream (William Shakespeare)...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have made many wonderful experiences throughout my travels, but also just together with my friends or during jobs or volunteering. I just don't know which one to pick for this...
Teach, Learn, Share
I love getting to know or even learning bits of interesting skills of people I meet. That could range from a few words in a new language to skills like juggling.
I can share some knowledge on psychology (how about a few optical illusions?), some recipies and ideas for cooking and baking :)
What I Can Share with Hosts
Mostly, I love sharing stories. But I'm always happy to share songs, recepies, book recommendations...
