About Me

Our life journey has taken a major turn recently. My husband's mom is in the advanced stages of Alzheimer's. We are taking on full time duties as her primary caregiver(s), so are unable to host travelers at this time. We hope to travel and host Couch Surfers again soon.

Safe travels to all our Couch Surfing friends and community!

We enjoy outdoor adventures, especially hiking the locally abundant trails throughout the Hot Springs National Park and Ouchita National Forest. I am an avid gardener of food, flowers and herbs. I enjoy painting watercolors.

I also love philosophical conversations about the meaning of life. I am not a fan of religion, per se, but enjoy talking of God and our purpose in life. I am an avid fan of the Conversations with God dialogues and offer life coaching to others based in this work.

As a lifelong student, teacher and practitioner of science I love making the connection between the physical and the metaphysical.

My husband, Randy, is a woodworker and furniture maker. We love meeting new people and sharing different perspectives and philosophies of life.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music - '70's, especially the Beatles and Motown
Movies - The Way, Field of Dreams, Wizard of Oz, Harry Potter series, The Princess Bride,
Books - OMG! too many to name, but if I was limited to only recommending one book to anyone I would recommend the "Conversations With God" trilogy by Neale Donald Walsch, which I do recommend all the time! Here's a pretty good list of others I include on my website:

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most amazing thing that I've done and continue to do is teach others how to trust and use their intuitive abilities. We all have intuitive abilities, but our culture has taught us to doubt their veracity because they can't be 'measured' in the traditionally accepted scientific manner.

Another amazing thing that I have had the honor of doing is to teach students from middle school to adult all manner of science disciplines: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Physical Science, Human Anatomy, Exercise Physiology, Environmental Science, Earth Science, etc. It is awesome to be able to share knowledge which others seek. I love science topics of all manner and consider myself a science nerd!

Started the recycling program for the city of Oxford and Lafayette County MS in 1998 that still thrives today.

Teach, Learn, Share

I especially like to share and teach our guests about Hot Springs National Park and the local geography, flora and fauna. It is an awesome area and there is so much to do. Not only do we have the NP, but we are surrounded by the Ouchita NF, 5 lakes, and abundant beauty.

Did you know that the hot water that comes up out of the ground in Hot Springs fell as rain 4,000 years ago? That is incredible - and you know it is pure! Bring plenty of containers to capture it in and take on the road with you.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Great conversation, knowledge of the local area - especially Hot Springs National Park and local state parks. We live approximately 8 miles from the Historic Center of Hot Springs National Park.

We have a 2 double beds (each in a separate guest room), a sleeper sofa that sleeps two, another couch and plenty of floor space.

Sometimes meals - depending on circumstances.

We have two well behaved dogs. We have three cats, or rather three cats have us for their people.
