Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Our first couchsurfing experience in Vienna as surfers was just a OMG-experience! Renate was just the perfect host! I think couchsurfing is far better than "just" visiting a town like a tourist.
I'm looking forward to hosting too.
Interests
I care for de-growth works, organic and fair trade products.
I try to live "environmentally friendly".
I love travelling and learning about art and other people/cultures.
I do Karate and love reading (I'm also a keen bookcrosser - DEESSE is my screenname).
Oh yes, and I quite like my job as a secondary school teacher.

Music, Movies, and Books
I read nearly anything: fantasy, novels, children's literature... I'm also a bookcrosser, so you can check my bookshelf there: www.bookcrossing.com (member name: DEESSE).
I liked "The Secret Life of Bees", "The Kite Runner", "The Manny Files" and many more...
I like films that make me cry or laugh, e.g. "The Lord of the Rings"-films, "City of Angels", "The Boat that Rocked", "Love Actually", "There's only one Jimmy Grimble", "The Full Monty", ... (to be completed...)
I also happen to watch TV series (my all time favourite: "Nurse Jackie"), but I quite enjoyed as well "United States of Tara", "Californication" or "Mad Men". (Not so much "Sex in the City" or "Desperate Housewives")
A friend recently told me about "Supernatural", and I must say I'm kind of hooked now. (still 8 seasons to watch!)
Music:
There: Yes, I quite like Bon Jovi's music. And rock music in general, music from the 80's, but also more "modern" songs, e.g. Jessy J., Maroon5, Die Ãârzte, Mademoiselle K, Bruno Mars, James Blunt, Stereophonics, Muse...
I even listen to classical music every now and then - or jazz.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Sitting at Bunglass cliffs in Ireland
Sunrise meditation in a Korean buddhist monastery after a templestay night
Teach, Learn, Share
I can cook a nice spaghetti sauce (pasta asciutta) without a recipe book - everytime it gets a little bit different, according to the vegetables I can find in my fridge.
I could show you how to do the beginner's Katas of Shotokan Karate.
