About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Stop being a "fake" chinese and learn the language once and for all!

ABOUT ME

All my friends describe me with just two words: mediterranean chinese. I´m a hybrid between chinese look and spanish lifestyle. My values are not chinese nor spanish, they are just mine. Of course, they are based on the education I received from my parents, school, friends, the street... But, as in Buddhism, I always try to accept them after testing them through my experiences (the few ones ive had in my short life :P).

PHILOSOPHY

Everything beggins with curiosity. Children are more likely to learn and experience new things because they still have the capacity of being surprised so we should try to keep this spirit while we grow up.

Interests

I am curious about too many things so I start all kind of fun stuff but end up finishing just a few. I started playing the spanish guitar, took painting lessons, learned salsa, bellydance and yoga, love analogic photography (the dark room is soooo relaxing), learned finish language... And, of course, I love travelling.

Music, Movies, and Books

In general, Jimmy Hendrix and The Beatles are two constants no matter in which mood you are. I love Spanish bands like Canteca de Macao, La Pegatina, Marea, Alamedadosoulna... Also Bon Iver, The Doors, Toto la Momposina, Red Hot, Kings of Leon (the old songs)... And the music in the Disney movie The Aristocats is...genius!
I love latinamerican writers such as Eduardo Galeano or Mario Benedetti. I'm reading a very interesting book of Saramago(Ensayo sobre la ceguera) which I'm loving and The Doors of Perception definetely impacted me (very good reflexions about language and culture and I also felt really identified with some of Huxley's experiences/feelings).
Movies? Little white lies, Coffee and cigarettes, The Jungle Book, Even the rain, The Wave, The life of the others, Y tu mamá también, El secreto de sus ojos, Life is beautiful, Noviembre...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most memorable moments I've lived in the last years...

I'm in Shanghai learning Chinese and I was on exchange during the last two years: Salamanca and Melbourne so, obviously, they've been 3 amazing years.
But I could highlight a curiosity of Laos. I went there on summer and people from Laos usually enter a shop, hotel, restaurant.. barefoot. I was wearing the average black flipflops. One night, when I was about to leave a restaurant, I realised that someone had taken mine (the one's left were 2 sized bigger than mine so i don't know how he could have mistaken my flipflops). I had no choice than wear the flipflops that were left. The third night, definetely someone who was drunk cause otherwise I couldn't understand, there was one flipflop of each left. So I went back to Madrid in a 2 sizes bigger flipflop and a brown flipflop.

The second moment is a whole trip: New Zealand. I rented a van with other 4 friends and travelled through the south island for 7 days. I saw the most amazing landscapes and sunsets, I met amazing people and drove a 6-people-van through the mountains in the opposite side of the road.
