About Me

I joined Couchsurfing in 2009, at a very different stage of life to the one I'm in now. At the time I was a free-lance sustainability practitioner, and I had a great deal more time for leisurely travel than I have now.

My life these days largely revolves around work that I'm really passionate about, my parter, our energetic toddler, my home in Cape Town and two labradors (who, sadly, have definitely found themselves lower on the pecking order, since our child's birth. And surfing!

Having said all this, my fundament philosophies haven't changed. I believe we are all born with one purpose, which is finding expression for the essence of who we are while we're alive, whatever shape or form that takes. And I value personal freedom and growth in equal measure.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I joined the couch surfing community in 2009 because I was travelling at the time and wanted to be able to engage with the locals of the areas I was travelling to. Since then I have only had a few occasions to engage. My current home situation doesn't make it very conducive to hosting at the moment, but I am always open to giving suggestions where I can, especially for nature-based experiences in and around Cape Town.
