About Me

CURRENT MISSION

it would be cool to finally match my socks

ABOUT ME
I've taken a break from couchsurfing to birth 2 super cool kids! Although we haven't taken a break from travel. We've been residing in Spain, Canada and France for the last few years, couchsurfing, more like taking over the homes of our families, but when you have a cute baby no one minds ;)

..................

i like sitting on beaches, in parks, on benches, on benches in parks and beaches. i sometimes feel like the world is going in a really bad direction; when that happens i log into this site i realize that so many people give what they can of themselves. that makes me smile.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I can host and hang out.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I just recently got back from a five month backpacking trip around Western Europe. i must say that i feel as if i got a rare opportunity to explore and learn about so many places. this is mainly due to the fellow members of couchsurfing that so graciously integrated me into their daily life. All positive experiences, all wonderful people... (August 2007)

i went to hawaii. the people i went with wanted to drink in the hotel room and sleep on the beach. that's all. so i found a new friend and he took me hiking and talked about lots of cool stuff. then we ate sushi and had smoothies. he taught me about the acia berry and when i was hyperventilating on a mountain he helped me to regulate my breathing. that was a really good experience. thanks kimo! (march 2008)

Interests

Newly interested in world schooling, unschooling, peaceful parenting, sustainability, minimalist lifestyle.

Dancing, dragonflies, hot chocolate on a cold day with a warm body, afternoon breakfasts, headbusting beats, baking sweet goodies, having sweet goodies baked for me, writing in my journal, learning about technology, finding a teeny tiny place in this big old world for me to be.

Music, Movies, and Books

i am reading some kerouac novels right now to give me some "beat" inspiration.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

travelling with my little son has been epic. when he was two months old we travelled from Canada to Spain. Rented a car in Madrid and drove to Avila and then down to Cadiz.

Exploring cities that I have already experienced and seeing my son create his own memories of these places is surreal.
.......
the most amazing thing so far has been a backpacking trip for five months with my little sister. we had been apart for about five years as i was 5000 miles away from her and now we are enjoying every minute of our time together!

when we were traveling we....

took a taxi from portugal to spain with four drunk america girls... messy ride

spent the night outside an airport where we were woken up by 50 italian paratroopers who wanted to practise english with us

made a best friend named cassidy

saw lunar eclipse through a massive telescope while staying at a castle in england (yeah cause thats how we roll!)

played with dogs all over europe... we really like dogs

Teach, Learn, Share

i would like to improve on my juggling skills and learn to play chess better. I can teach people how to make the best chocolate chip walnut banana bread ever! I can share and give of myself.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I enjoy baking, cooking, exploring new cuisines. I'm more of a listener than a talker.

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, Cuba, Dominican Republic, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, United Kingdom, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In

Canada, France, Spain
