About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To become Miss Cincinnati Hostest with the Mostest
ABOUT ME
I'm open to new friends, new kinds of food, new games, new music, and new ideas. I'm not open to jumping from heights. I speak openly, which is mostly fun but sometimes too much information. I like to be accommodating.
PHILOSOPHY
People who need people are the luckiest people.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I enjoy hosting people and some day I'll probably surf, too. I also attend Monday night potlucks in Cincinnati with other couch surfers.
Interests
I'm interested in art and education, which is perfect because I'm an art teacher. I'm also interested in biology, geology, geometry and kaleidoscopes. I enjoy karaoke, dancing, and celebrations. I like to camp, hike, snorkle, kyak, and sail. I adore my kitty Zute, although most people do not. I have a great love for octopuses. I also love my husband, Mark, my two sisters and my parents.

Music, Movies, and Books
Kurt Vonnegut is my favorite author. Wes Anderson is my favorite director. David Byrne is my favorite musician. Henri Matisse is my favorite artist. It's only coincidental that those are all men. I also like many women who create things.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I went night snorkeling with a flashlight once in Belize and saw five octopuses. One of them let me touch her. We also saw all kinds of creatures that come out after dark- eels, lobsters, crabs, nerve sharks, and a manta ray. During the same trip in another part of Belize I went spelunking with my husband and a guide. The caves there are hollowed out by underground rivers, so we swam upstream as far as we could in darkness. We passed two waterfalls but the third was too strong. On the way out we went downstream and I was carried away by the current. I was kind of flushed underwater on my way down a waterfall and I lost my headlamp and stubbed my toe. Mark dove after me to rescue me and stubbed his toe, too. We were fine in the end, but we learned later that those cave tours are meant to include life jackets. I'm glad we didn't have the jackets because it wouldn't have been as adventurous.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach drawing skills, fabric dye methods, and other art processes. I can offer all sorts of information regarding octopuses. I like to learn about wildlife and natural land formations as well as foreign customs and languages. Sometimes modern medicine and new technology spark my interest as well.
