About Me
CURRENT MISSION
My mission objective is to pack my life with as many new experiences as possible before I return home to the States and "get serious" about my life. :-)
ABOUT ME
I am a "40ish" (but on the young side :-))single woman who is currently completing her philosophy degree in Rome. Traveling to Turkey and to Greece (and I hope, to Budapest) before I return to the States is my last "hoorah" before I settle down and get busy earning money and all that stuff. I love to travel; and am absolutely loving my time in Italy, getting to know the Italians and learning their language. But I would love to make connections in other places of the world as well. I love all things philosophical but am also interested in nutrition. I have a small practice in nutrition, now, and have plans to develop it fully once I return to the States. I like getting to bed early, don't drink much or smoke, am careful about my diet but LOVE to try everything once--especially ethnic cuisine. I've really been enjoying my time abroad and am so excited to meet new people and see new places!
PHILOSOPHY
I am very devoted to God and to the development of the human person through a proper spirituality, openness to truth--wherever it is found--and an openness of mind which is directly opposed to any kind of judgment. I believe that life is one of abundance and that if one is open and lives in harmony with all things, all good things will come to him. I am interested in devoting my life specifically to this philosophy through my nutrition practice which I hope to develop more fully in the near future.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am currently just participating on "couchsurfing" as a guest. :-) I am traveling and need a free place to stay while I visit. I would also so much more appreciate getting to know the locals rather than doing the common "tourist" thing that comes with staying in a hotel. I am traveling alone so it'd be really nice to make some connections while I'm staying abroad. Meanwhile, once I have the capacity to do so, I'd love to host others while they're doing the same. I truly love making connections--the more unusual sometimes, the better for me!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
None; I am completely new to this but find the adventure exciting.

Music, Movies, and Books
I don't watch many movies; I love to read--mainly classics or books on spiritual things like THE POWER OF NOW by Eckhart Tolle. I like almost any kind of music except rap but prefer Baroque or Celtic New Age because both are very relaxing. I love to dance, though, so music for that every once in a while is appreciated. And since I grew up in the 80's I love almost any song from that era!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have recently traveled to Rome where, completely by chance, I met a lady on a train who "adopted" me into her Italian family. I have had the most incredible experiences since living with this family--the best one was staying in a their palace in Navelli. They are a royal family, I guess, who can trace their lineage to the 1400's and this palace was built back then. It is still maintained and now has the modern comforts of electricity and running water but the setting is still medieval. It was absolutely incredible; I felt like I was living in a film!
Teach, Learn, Share
I can share anything about nutrition. I have found an incredible program in which I have currently become certified and I'd love to share my knowledge with anyone who's interested.
