About Me
ABOUT ME
I am a passionate traveller. Ever since we left East Germany in 1986 I spent most of my money on plane tickets and my curiosity led me to many many beautiful places. I have been to 33 countries and yet there is so much more to see. I have an 8 year old daughter and I love showing her our beautiful planet and how people live in different places.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I have never tried couchsurfing but I hope to try it some time as I believe you get so much more out of a place by connecting with local People rather than staying in a hotel and doing the tourist thing.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
- travelled through the Middle East (from Cyprus-Israel-Jordan-Egypt) by myself, hitch-hiked through Israel at the age of 19
- spent one semester studying at Qatar University (1994) as the only Western non-Muslim, living in a student residence for girls from other Arab countries where we were guarded and not allowed to leave by ourselves
- travelled around New Zealand (both North and South Island) for 3 months in a camper van with my then 5 yr old daughter
What I Can Share with Hosts
My childhood spent in communist East Germany living only 100m from THE WALL and how we managed to leave East Germany in 1986 (before the wall came down). Good things and bad things about living in a communist country.
Countries I’ve Lived In
Germany, Qatar, Switzerland, United Kingdom, United States
