About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To avoid the consquences of mind numbing routine and addiction to money; to have as many eye opening, mind expanding experiences in life as possible

ABOUT ME

I recently returned home to NYC from a 6 month trip to South America. It changed my life because even though I am back at work, I know I can be back out there at any moment. It's that easy, and that much fun. I hope to never stop traveling and seeing the world in this way. I loved South America. While there I volunteered in Peru, Ecuador and Argentina; hiked the Inca Trail to Macchu Pichu; did severak treks in Patagonia; fell in love with Buenos Aires; and met so many amazing and inspiring people. I continue now to take small trips here and there, but am always considering my next big move... possibly to India/Nepal next.

PHILOSOPHY

Ray Bradbury said it best: "Stuff your eyes with wonder ... live as if you'd drop dead in ten seconds. See the world. It's more fantastic than any dream made or paid for in factories."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

CS is a great meeting place for people who have travel in their blood. Being a part of it keeps me inspired and motivated to travel as much as I can. I am always happy to offer guidance to people coming to NYC. It can be a daunting city so it helps to know someone on the ground.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I was introduced to CS by someone I befriended on the Inca Trail, and later offered me his couch in Santiago when I was passing through. The concept seemed so strange then, though now I am a couchsurfing convert: in only 36 hours, I was able to get a true glimpse of Santiago and its vibe, which would not have been possible without his enthusiasm, generosity and guidance.

I also experienced the power of CS in Ushuai, with a woman who lives there and came to meet us out one night for dinner and drinks. She herself was lovely and it was nice to spend some time in a new city with someone who offered an inside perspective.
