I have spent the past year living in Beirut and I have had such an amazing time here exploring Lebanon, eating the best food I've ever had, and meeting incredible new friends. I am in the process of moving back to the States, but I am going to spend a couple of weeks exploring Europe first!

I grew up in both Tokyo and Boston, and have lived in several other states and countries, so I consider myself to be a true global citizen. I love having friends all over the world and meeting people and sharing our different experiences and cultures.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I was introduced to Couchsurfing when I moved to Beirut, and I have met so many amazing people here through this community. Unfortunately I have not had the chance to host as I previously lived in a college dorm and was subletting an apartment, but I definitely plan on hosting people once I have my own living space! My favorite part of traveling is meeting the people and learning about different cultures and places first hand, and I feel like Couchsurfing is a great community to do this!

Music, Movies, and Books

Recently, my non-American friend has introduced me to country music, and now I'm hooked! It's my guilty pleasure for getting through a long workday. I have also been trying to learn the lyrics to Arabic music, even if I don't understand them!

I love black and white movies. They're just so classic, if a bit cheesy!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hiking to the bottom of the grand canyon, camping in the middle of the desert in Jordan and most recently, spending the night with a Lebanese family in a small village, sharing delicious food and trying to communicate in a mix of languages.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love learning new languages, even just a few words, and I'd love to do a language exchange. I also speak Japanese, if anyone is interested in learning!

I dabble a bit in cooking, but would love to share some traditional Lebanese recipes that I have learned. I also love coffee and wine, and sharing great conversation.
