About Me

***** I'm not accepting guests at the moment because I'm preparing to travel. I'll be in San Francisco and Portland in September. If you live there, send me a message and we can hang out!****

I'm a queer and quirky artist (writer, actor, filmmaker). For my day job, I teach theatre, puppetry, and film to children and I absolutely adore it. Beyond my art-ing, I love dogs, parks, dog parks, cooking, moseying and taking pictures, film, British comedy, and most especially the Muppets. I'm also an unashamed chocoholic. Most importantly, I did NOT vote for nor do I support Donald Trump (aka our Predator in Chief). On behalf of my country, I wholeheartedly apologize.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'd made a pact with myself, at age 15, that I'd visit every state in the USA by the time I was 50, and a long list of countries by the time I was 70. Now, on the cusp of 40, I have 11 states to go (not bad) but have only seen one other country. So, I figure I'd better get cracking. One of my old professors, a hilarious queer preacher, raved about this community. When I visited England, I stayed with pals, and realized that that's how I prefer to experience a place, through the eyes of the fabulous folks who live there. I want to dive in and become a true citizen of the world, learn, and make friends. What better way than this?

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite film of all time is "Stranger Than Fiction".

I recently watched Hannah Gadbsy's "Nanette" on Netflix, and it absolutely blew my mind.

My favorite book on writing is "Bird By Bird".

My latest read is "The Power" by Naomi Alderman. Jaw dropping.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I am the first woman in my family to earn a Master's degree. I'm the first person in my family to earn two Master's degree. Now, my younger cousin Brittany has earned her Master's and is the first woman in our family to start her own business. Passing the torch and breaking glass ceilings. Huzzah!

Teach, Learn, Share

I'd love to learn your language (at least the basics) and also try your favorite dish. Then, I'll make my favorite dish for you! And if you have little ones, we could put on a puppet show for you. I could also teach them very silly theatre songs. Fun!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I've been told that I'm quite funny (I refer to myself as a part time Muppet). I also take fabulous pictures, and will more than likely become best friends with your dogs and children (if you have any).
