Our mission is to share the quirkiness that brings us together as human beings with people from different parts of the world...& most importantly, to be a springboard for surfers who are here to check out this magical corner of the world called Homer!

ABOUT ME

I grew up in small towns in Alaska, both on the road system (Nelchina) and off the road system (McGrath). I went to school in Eugene Oregon, which opened my mind and world up to embrace everything I can possibly stand, which makes couch surfing (and hosting) a really enticing experience! I met Kevin while traveling in Tortola, British Virgin Islands, and convinced him to move to Alaska with me, and we picked Homer, because it was a new place to both of us. We arrived in April 2013 and we feel like the luckiest folks on earth to have landed in such a nifty place. We have a doggie, Kali (short for Khalissi for all you Game of Thrones fans out there) and a round kitty named Koko.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We just moved into a smaller-sized dry cabin, so we don't have the best amenities, (we have a sink and we haul water, and a cute little outhouse, but no shower!) but we are happy to host anyone on our air mattress, as long as you're okay with some doggie cuddles. We are just happy to be here, and happy to host or meet up with anyone who wants to visit this magical little place and wants some pointers on the best coffee shops, best places to eat, or the coolest viewing-point in town ;)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Neither Kevin or I have surfed yet, but we have now enjoyed hosting in Homer! I was introduced to CS in college, when my roommates hosted surfers, but I haven't been very active until now because I haven't been in a single place for too long. We hope to get some time to travel soon and we already have some destinations cut out for us to visit the folks who we've hosted here. What a great experience! and a wonderful way to meet other like-minded and interesting people :)
