My name is Karine Lafleche,

I grew up in the country in a little town about 30 minutes from Ottawa. I am currently in my 2nd year at Algonquin College in the Tourism and Travel Program.
Traveling is always on my mind, any chance I get to go somewhere, I do not refuse.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on couch surfing because I would like to meet new people and I think it is a great that people are wanting to host travelers in their home, show us around and help us out as much as they can so that we can have an amazing experience in our travels.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One amazing thing I've done is teach abroad in Monte Cristi, Dominican Republic. Last February Algonquin college game me the opportunity to teach English to kids from the age of 6-12 years old. We organized classes with different subject for each age group, depending how far they were in their leaning progress. It was an amazing experience, I really felt like I had done a good deed and help those children to have a better future.

I've done it once, it is an amazing feeling knowing that you are helping someone and would definitely recommend it. It is something I am planning on doing again.

I love all animals, I don't smoke and don't mind if others do.
