ABOUT ME

I am a South African American :) My family immigrated to the USA when I was a kid, and I grew up there. I love the outdoors and coffee. I am all about adventures and unforgettable experiences. I recently moved to the Czech Republic. I volunteer with a non-profit organization here doing different things from helping with youth programs to teaching English. I am also studying the Czech language. I love to learn all about their culture and share life together with the locals. I am looking forward to more language and culture learning here.

I'm spontaneous yet logical. I love a deep conversation. I want to travel the world. I live for meeting people and hearing their life stories. We've each got something to learn and we've each got some insight to give. Wanna get coffee and figure this whole thing out?

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I haven't participated in couchsurfing in any monumental ways. However, I did have the chance to show a few couch surfers around Nashville when I lived there which was fun. I also have also surfed a few times.

Now I continue to surf as well as host. I haven't hosted anyone yet since moving to CZ a couple of months ago, but hope to do that soon. I am here to share life experiences, hear life experiences, and make life experiences :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had my first couch surf adventure the summer of 2014 with my older brother as we traveled from California to Mississippi by car and met some awesome hosts.

I don't have a favorite movie- normally I either fall asleep during a movie or talk through it (oops!). haha but I am getting better at this, as a few close friends are movie people. I have enjoyed becoming more cultured in this area for sure :)

Books! I love anything educational or enlightening. I also like things that prompt me to reflect. I think mainly I just enjoy the idea of gaining perspective through reading. An all-time favorite of mine is Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close by Jonathan Safran Foer. I also like The Traveler's Gift by Andy Andrews.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've traveled a few places, but mainly Honduras. I've been able to build relationships with people there over the last 6 years and it's been an experience like no other- I've eaten with them, spent the nights in their homes, worked alongside them at their jobs, and played hours upon hours of soccer. While there were cool sites and experiences, the most amazing thing to me was being able to share the everyday life experiences with them.

Teach, Learn, Share

I've learned that life is ready to offer us perspective- and a lot of it. We must be ready to accept it though. I believe everyone has something to share and to enlighten others with. Hopefully I can share this with you, who knows what i can teach :) Maybe a little something about where I live??
