ABOUT ME
Hi there, I'm Kati from HKI (currently living in Copenhagen though)!
I like art, language(s), literature, music, movies, urban culture, spontaneous ideas, and academic articles. Discussing interesting topics with my (old and new) friends is pretty much the best thing I know.
To travel is to live, and I like meeting new people. I'm open-minded and talkative, and I usually get along with people quite well.
I study Finnish language, comparative literature, gender studies, aestethics, and film studies at the university of Helsinki and I'm loving it.
PHILOSOPHY
Keep it cool
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I host and surf.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I used to have a couchsurfing profile with my dear roommate Emma, but she wanted to travel all around the world and left me alone for 5 months, so I created my own profile as well. BUT you can see our profile here: http://www.couchsurfing.org/people/emmakati/.
We've hosted a lot of people and it has always been so much fun, so I think I could do it on my own, too.

Music, Movies, and Books
Well, the fact is that I love reading. The best book ever is Nadja by André Breton. I like authors like Oscar Wilde, Franz Kafka, Albert Camus, Virginia Woolf, Haruki Murakami, Edith Södergran and Sofi Oksanen. Wuthering Heights by Emily Brönte and The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald - also great. (But I do read contemporary literature too.)
When it comes to music, I like to discover new names, but my all time favourites are maybe The Cure, The Smiths, Bloc Party and some Finnish artists.
Movies: I like experimental film (especially those avantgarde films of the 20s and 30s), but I also watch mainstream movies as long as they're good! Howl, The Hours, A Single Man, Waltz with Bashir, Edward Scissorhands, Good Bye Lenin, for example.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
living and learning something everyday
