Joining an international camp in Indonesia with a bunch of people from many parts of Asia. The camp took me from a city life where everything was within reach to be in a really remote area where we didn’t even have proper meals or shelter. It was so cold up the top of a mountain in complete darkness where we didn’t have enough sleeping bags to keep us warm. The experience was daunting but what kept us going was the people that shared laughter and joy doing fun team activities. They were amazing. At the end of the program, we managed to climb Mount Bromo which was one of the most beautiful places I’d ever seen. The trip turned out from being horrible to be the best trip ever! I told a guy this was my first trip abroad and he said “it’s going to open you up to the world and you’re going to travel a lot more.” He was not wrong.
