About Me

I'm working as a freelance missionary in Guinea since 20 years, came out of the hippie movement, love freedom, traveling, meeting people, nature and an alternative simplistic lifestyle.
Update !
Since one year I've left my home and return only occasionally. I'm traveling in my Camper-truck in Westafrica from Morocco to Niger. Maybe we can still meet somewhere and exchange experiences. Possibly I can still host you in Guinea, just contact me. I've been in Westafrica for the last 25 years and I can give you a lot of info about living and traveling in this part of the world. Feel free to contact me.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have been traveling all my life, hitch-hiking, back-packing and by car, but almost never stayed in hotels. I know what it means to depend on hospitable people when you travel, so I like to share my home with you. Also I love to get to know new people, their interests, their live stories and so far I have had only good experiences with Couchsurfing. It's a fantastic way to build a community for a better world.

Interests

Nature, organic food, permaculture, natural building. I'm a family man, love my children and have been living a communal lifestyle for more than 25 years. I believe that developing relationships with people in a deep way, friendship, understanding and working together are some of the most important things in life.

In 2022 I have left my home again to travel full-time as a pilgrim in Westafrica in a Camper-Truck, spreading a message of love and hope for a better world, which will be coming in the future.
I'm a believer in our creator, but I don't preach religion.

Music, Movies, and Books

Santana, Jeff Beck, John McLaughlin, Blues, Jazz, Rock, but I like all kind of music that gives you a good feeling, especiallz instrumentals from all over the world as well as traditional African music like classical Kora from Mali
I barely watch any movies, have no TV, but like Classics, mystery, true stories, documentaries, historical movies and stuff that makes you laugh.
As for books my all-time favourite is the Bible, all of Tolkien's books, C.S.Lewis, Tolstoy, John Bunyan - Historical books, true stories, adventure.
Also I love UTube docus about fixing things, historical documentaries, and info about essential things in life.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

After living in Asia for 10 years I left Japan on a Russian cargo boat with my family of 5 kids in a Toyota van to arrive in Vladivostok and travel by road and train to Irkutsk. We lived in Siberia for almost 3 years and traveled extensively, once 10 days on the Lena river to Yakutsk. In 1998 we had to leave Russia, traveled all the way to Germany and then on to Guinea in West Africa through the Sahara desert in an old Landcruiser.

I've been living almost all of my life without holding a job. I consider myself a free missionary without religion or organization, a traveling nomad trusting in God to take care of my needs and He has never failed me.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have a lot of experience from traveling and living in many countries, can fix almost anything, grow my own food, built my own house, use natural medicine and I can help you live in harmony with our creator.
The more I learn the more I know that I know "nothing", I am open to learn about anything that has true values,
I love to learn languages to be able to communicate with all peoples of this earth.
I share freely everything I can share and like to help people without money. I believe we are here to learn how to love.
Prosperity and modern western lifestyle cannot solve the worlds problems, rather the contrary, the American dream and technology is the downfall of modern civilization.
People have to change in their hearts !

What I Can Share with Hosts

My home, my family, food, counsel on the surrounding area and traveling in West Africa.
How to survive almost anywhere in the world with little money.
Permaculture, natural food, natural medicine. Living a simplistic, sustainable lifestyle in love and liberty.

Countries I’ve Lived In

Argentina, Croatia, Germany, Greece, Guinea, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Mali, Russian Federation, Senegal, Serbia, Sierra Leone, Singapore, Slovenia, Switzerland
