About Me

CURRENT MISSION

See the world!

ABOUT ME

Hey everybody! I am an English teacher from America (California specifically) who is out to see the world and all the wonders it contains. I'm easy going and very open-minded, the kind of person who prefers bars to clubs because it's easier to have a conversation there. Let's grab a drink and swap some stories!

PHILOSOPHY

I live my life for the human element. We're social creatures, and I believe that every encounter with another person is an opportunity to learn something from them. I live life to meet new people and experience the world from their point of view. I like to try and see things from another perspective, which is why I like travelling so much (you get to meet so many interesting people!)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I surf when I can, and I host when asked of me. I like to participate as much as possible because couchsurfing is such a great idea and I'd like to see it being utilized to its fullest extent.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far my Couchsurfing experience has been great. Being able to meet new people in the cities I visit has been an absolute trip.

Interests

I have a range of interests but I'm particularly fond of politics, especially on the international scale. I love the intricacies that go along with how countries interact and behave towards one another, be it on a theoretical level or a more practical one. Recently I've been getting into World War I history and have been loving the incredible narrative it provides.
As for my hobbies, I'm really into running, reading, rowing, writing, drumming, watching TV/movies/anime. I like to think that I'm relatively easy to entertain/occupy, all I need is a book and I'll be good to go. :)

Music, Movies, and Books

I am a huge Stephen King fan, as well as anything fantasy with personal favorites being Game of Thrones and Harry Potter, as well as the "Belgariad" series by David Eddings. Other favorites include "A Shadow of the Wind", "About a Boy", and "The Hundred Year Old Man Who Climbed Out of the Window and Disappeared." I love rock music (I myself am a rock drummer) with my favorite band being Avenged Sevenfold. I also really like anime, personal favorites being Full Metal Alchemist and Deathnote, and I really enjoy the movie "Cabin in the Woods" as well as anything else by Joss Whedon.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Probably the coolest thing I've done was spend New Years in Rome. The streets were so full of people, all drunk (me included) with fireworks going off over the Colosseum, as well as a few in the streets! By the time we got out of there the trains were closed so we had to sleep in the station until we could make it back to our hotel. Oh what a night...

Teach, Learn, Share

People who genuinely want to talk to me and are willing to debate me with stuff. Someone I can learn from.
I like to think that I can teach people to see the good in life, to see all the beautiful little moments that happen each day.

What I Can Share with Hosts

What I can share with hosts...well, I can share a drink, and raise my glass with anyone willing to let me stay with them. I can share a tasty meal, handmade by me, as a gesture of goodwill and thanks. I can share a story or a poem or a song, I can share a couch with other surfers or I can share my thoughts and opinions if they're granted respect. I'm willing to offer whatever I can to those with an open-mind who invite me into their homes.
