About Me

I was born and raised in California's capitol, which at the time of writing is the number four hipster city in the nation.

I was a band geek, and I have been playing the alto saxophone since I was 10 along with various other instruments. More recently, I've picked up the ukulele, but I only know one song. Ha.

At 17, I moved to Belgium for a year as part of an exchange program and I became semi-fluent in French. I also caught a nasty little travel bug, which led me to study in Bordeaux, France last year. Now, I am preparing to start my master's degree in Germany.

I have a reputation for being awkward, but don't let this discourage you. People usually tell me I'm a joy to be around after they get past the initial shock. I love laughing and making stupid jokes. (Un)fortunately, I have inherited my dad's sense of humor.

I am not able to accept any guests at this time, but hopefully I will be able to in the near future.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I need friends.

I also do a lot of solo traveling, so sometimes it's nice to have someone around who knows what they're doing.

Meeting new people and experiencing different cultures is nice, too.

Interests

I love to crochet, and I also enjoy baking. One of my favorite pastimes is curling up in a blanket and watching Netflix.
I also like outdoor activities like running, hiking, boating, and swimming.

Music, Movies, and Books

Pop, hip-hop, classical.
Grease, The Little Rascals, and Forest Gump.
Currently reading: Memoir of a Thinking Radish by Peter Medawar

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I moved to a French speaking country without ever hearing a native speaker speak French.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to crochet, or help you improve your English.
I want to learn how to cook a traditional meal, so I can host a dinner party, and brag about it to my friends back home.
I can share the half-eaten candy bar in my purse.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm a great conversationalist, and an even better listener. I have many stories to share from my travels, and from life in general. I can also offer a helping hand, and even whip up some classic American sweets.

Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Dominican Republic, England, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland
