Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To help and learn from others. People helping people can do amazing things.
ABOUT ME
We have been married since August 2008 and each have been living in Laramie, where we met, since 2005. Karl teaches freshman/sophomore level math courses at UW and Kendra is finishing up her Masters degree in Structural Engineering. We love the outdoors, traveling, just hanging out with other people, and playing all sorts of card and board games, especially Catan and gin rummy.
PHILOSOPHY
People helping other people and the relationships that come from those experiences can truly make this world a better place. We get this message from the Gospel and strive to extend our love to everyone regardless of background, race, or personal beliefs.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
We've only hosted so far but have truly enjoyed our experiences sharing with, learning from, and being with others.
Interests
We are interested in books, the outdoors, running, microbrews, faith and love, new experiences, different cultures, and exploration. We love to travel and are looking forward to hopefully moving abroad in August 2011.

Music, Movies, and Books
Between the two of us we listen to a wide range of music but favorites for both include Postal Service, the Decemberists, and Michael Buble.
As for TV shows, we enjoy Seinfeld, Arrested Development, Friends, the Office, 30 Rock, and Scrubs.
We love movies. Anything Pixar is great. Karl has a soft spot for the Muppets and Kendra for classic Disney, but the collection on our shelves includes everything from Star Wars to the Pink Panther to The Proposal (the occasional chick flick does indeed grace our movie shelves).
Reading is a huge part of our lives. Kendra doesn't get to as much as she'd like since she's hard at work on her Masters thesis but she enjoys the likes of Dan Brown, John Grisham, and both historical fiction and non. Karl enjoys most anything but is especially fond of Cormac McCarthy, Annie Proulx, and more modern western writing like that. He also likes David Sedaris and Dave Eggers.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Some amazing things we've seen include calving of the Mendenhall Glacier, the Snowy Range from the top of Medicine Bow Peak, the sunset at Vedauwoo, and a view in Maine where the line of where ocean ended and sky began was blurred beyond recognition. We've also rocked Harry Potter costumes around town after opening night and taken part (just Kendra so far) in a 10k with over 50000 other people.
