About Me

@makko.adventures (instagram account to see photos of my adventures)

Born in a small island in the Philippines, raised in Sydney. After an epic expidition around Europe, moving to Melbourne, I found myself again in another city! This time for love! ;) So, I've put a hold on my life back in Australia to pursue romantic dreams here in Manchester.

And if there's one thing that couch surfing has taught me, is to embrace the culture and the people in the city that you are in. Live the moment, seize the opportunities, make lasting friendships and wonderful memories! So here's to whatever life holds!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

While travelling through Europe and using couchsurfing, I've met so many genuine, interesting and fun people; and had so many unique experiences. I'm starting out a new life here in Manchesterand am keen to meet with equally fun people!

CS Experience:
I've couch surfed and used couch surfing for meet ups through Germany, Czech Republic, Denmark, Sweden, Northern Ireland, Ireland, Scotland, London, Paris, Barcelona, Italy. Romania, Serbia, Bosnia, Croatia, Slovenia and (Workaway in Iceland)! So many stories to share

Interests

Buildings! Lots and lots of buildings! Old buildings, new buildings, interesting buildings, brutalist buildings, and ruins; you can't forget ruins. Hey, I'm an architect! ;)

Also love to hike and just enjoy the outdoors, I've been doing lots of hikes around Sydney, climbing Mt Kozsciusko, the tallest mountain in Australia, which is not much really, but I am looking forward to the next tallest one!

I've also been learning guitar this past few months, so I can actually accompany myself when I want to sing, and mask my singing flaws :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Music

The 1975, The Script, One Repbulic, Hurts, Madeon, and many others to name.

Movies

Samsara, Life of Pi, Lord of the Rings Trilogy, The Hobbit Trilogy, The Tree of Life, to name a few

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I'm not really sure if it's that amazing to you but it's pretty special to me. As a child, I used to ride water buffalos and tend to my family's rice fields. I miss the good old days, living the simlple farm life.

Update: Just spent around six weeks in Iceland, milking cows, wrangling sheep, witnessing horse gatherings and of course, road trip around the country!

Teach, Learn, Share

I would love to learn so many things; there is so much to learn, and too little time to do it. I have to keep reminding, myself, just take it one step at a time, and enjoy what you will discover!

What I Can Share with Hosts

All I can share are my stories, if you would like to learn more about Australia and the Philippines, I'm your man!

If you would like a drawing buddy, a singing buddy, a guitar buddy, a dancing buddy, a hiking buddy, a crazy fun buddy and perhaps just a hangout buddy, I can be those things to.

Lastly, if there are any chores that needs to be done around the house like cooking, feeding the pets, looking after the kids, I'll be glad to help.
