About Me
ABOUT ME
I'm Karlijn, 27 years old, and I grew up in Voorschoten, The Netherlands with my mum, dad, brother and two sisters. Im curious, enthusiastic and chaotic. I love to read, play chess, guitar and boarding; singing too, but my friends are not fond of my performances I suppose;)
I'm now living in Ghent, Belgium, where I study a bit to broaden my knowledge and to extend my student life a bit longer. Here in Ghent, the people learned me everything about special beers and I play more chess at a cafe than I ever did in Holland. Besides chess I spend my time playing with my improvisation theatre group all around Belgium.
I am living with 4 other roommates (m/f), Belgium and Dutch. Our house is a real student-like house, messy but big, and our pickup player plays from Dire Straits, Marley, Beatles, Queen to the Specials. We are also accompanied by a fish, turtle and a cat.
Just ask if you are around and need a place. In the weekends I sometimes hop to Amsterdam/Utrecht/The Hague, to visit my Dutch friends and family; but this is very flexible.
PHILOSOPHY
Do not rush! Life is to short anyway.
If yellow is no colour then how to describe the sun?
Sorry I am late!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I spent a couple of months in India in 2009 and 2011:
Besides the normal backpack stuff which was really great (meeting people, enjoying both nature and culture), I have experienced a primitive way of life there without any luxury. For example, I spent one week in a really small village where electricity wasn't in use yet and that even can't be found by google-earth. In addition, to sleep in the desert next to my camel and to be awaked by a tongue of a wild dog that was fascinated by my appearance was a really weird experience :).
Teach, Learn, Share
Like to listen. But I can share social theories and some (psychological/ philosophical) thoughts that are running through my mind;)
