About Me
CURRENT MISSION
to live with an open mind and love with an open heart
ABOUT ME
We got married on September 3rd, 2011. We love to read, write, dance, and live life fully. We like people. :-)
We are certified permaculture designers, though the land we currently rent is a work in progress. We have a decent-sized garden which we are delighted to share.
We don't have cable.
We have a baby girl who doesn't always sleep through the night. ;-)
PHILOSOPHY
"And this is what knowledge really is. It is finding out something for oneself with pain, with joy, with exultancy, with labor, and with all the little ticking, breathing moments of our lives." - Thomas Wolfe
Adventure is a path. Real adventure - self-determined, self-motivated, often risky - forces you to have firsthand encounters with the world. The world the way it is, not the way you imagine it. Your body will collide with the earth and you will bear witness. In this way you will be compelled to grapple with the limitless kindness and bottomless cruelty of humankind - and perhaps realize that you yourself are capable of both. This will change you. Nothing will ever again be black-and-white. - Mark Jenkins
"Nursing is an art: and if it is to be made an art,
It requires an exclusive devotion as hard a preparation,
as any painter's or sculptor's work; for what is the having to do with dead canvas or dead marble, compared with having to do with the living body, the temple of God's spirit? It is one of the Fine Arts:
I had almost said, the finest of Fine Arts."
-- Florence Nightingale
"What do we leave behind when we cross each frontier? Each moment seems split in two; melancholy for what was left behind and the excitement of entering a new land." - Ernesto "Che" Guevara
