About Me

The "marino-biologist"

Working in a marine research vessel which brought me to being here in Manila. Currently, I can't host since I don't have my own place but would love to meet people over a cup of coffee or a glass of beer. I disembark on Fridays and weekends when we don't have any expedition trips, and goes back to the boat on Mondays. Then repeat! Haha

I’ve traveled around the 82 pprovinces of the Philippines. Chased waterfalls, lazed on idyllic beaches, climb picturesque mountains, visited century-old churches (even trees), and experienced the colorful and interesting indigeneous cultures. So if you have lots of questions about my country, I’d be glad to give you the best information out there.

I love adventure and traveling! Simply enjoys being with nature. Just like with nature, I’m also fascinated in the architecture, history, and food.

I play volleyball, swim, hike, run, and play Mobile Legends, League of Legends. I’m an avid fan of Survivor, and loves to cook, especially Sinigang (a local Filipino dish - sour soup with either shrimps, fish or pork, and some veggies). I’m a lowkey photographer, and story teller.

I have lots of plants at home, particularly airplants (Tillandsias). They are fascinating!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have been with Couchsurfing since 2013 but it was only until 2019 that I get to focus on hosting people since I now live on my own.

Just want to meet awesome people who share the same passion of traveling. Ask me spots to visit around the city, and I can help you with that.

Around the country, I was able to maximize my traveling experience with the help of locals - may it be from simple directions, as guides of their secret treasures, to even hosts on their homes. I just wanna return the generosity, and help others to have that Filipino experience.

When sending a request, start your message with #SALOMLANG (just dive!) so that I will know that you have read my short profile.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach how to cook and speak our local language. I can also be your tour guide around the city and nearby places, or provide you tips on places to go around the country. I can teach you a thing or two on photography. Will also let you feel the warmth and generosity- a common in Filipino culture.

I can show you a virtual tour around the country through my photographs, and a thing or two about plants and the marine life.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My travel stories and experiences traveling around the Philippines. A crash course in photography perhaps? Want a bit of a taste of the Philippines? I can cook local food as well.
