I am a student from Pennsylvania who is currently residing in Glasgow, Scotland for the next six months. I love backpacking, and some of my favorite memories have been from the top of mountains. I am also a firm believer that the most important item on a gear list is a good book.

Books: I have a soft spot for George Orwell; 1984 is probably my favorite novel, but it's so hard to choose! I also enjoy Annie Dillard, Johnathon Safran Foer, and Richard Preston. Oh, and Harry Potter, who can forget him?

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I moved away from home! I guess that's a pretty common thing to do, but it feels like a big deal to me (at least for now). I'm all alone in a new country, and there are new things around every corner. I'm getting adrenaline jitters just thinking about it.
