About Me

Erm... I do not love to describe myself so I am trying to make it quick:
I like to travel, and that's quite all about me.
I like ALL the kinds of travels... the sense of discovery, the fear of the new but at the same time the thrill beneath that fear... places, foods, drinks, people, stories... the overall sense of experience and astonishment, and at the same time loss and gain after every travel we have.

I'm not that complicated... I'm only as complicated as the speech gets more serious.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've been here, well quite a long time, because I really like the idea... unfortunately in the 6 months I could have hosted people nobody was interested in a couch in Lyon, France...
After that I moved back to parents' house and they definetely put a veto on that...

And I always felt it was not right to look for places to stay when I wasn't offering one so just visited now and then...
Now I am reconsidering my active use of the site given that I might be having an apartment on my own and a couch to offer not far from now.

Just a note... many people have some lines complaining about those who use couchsurfing as an economic alternative to Hostel and other ways of accomodation... well CS is actually born EXACTLY with that purpose. It is born to have people host travellers to have them not pay. At the very beginning it was absolutely meant for one night stop along trips... THIS is how all that took birth. If then it developed, it does not mean that now only people stopping for at least three days, and that cooks for you at least once, etc.. (I'm quoting from some profiles i read) are worthy to send you requests!

Interests

I kinda feel like it would be shorter to list what I am NOT interested in... usually because when I discover something know 80% of the time I get interested in it, at least for a time being.
I'll try to sort some of my main interests, random order:
travels, Ireland, Politics, Social Issues, Wine, Micro-brewed beers (a.e. Westvleteren, Brewdog, Baladin,...), Movies, TV series(GoT, Scrubs, TBBT, HIMYM), Star wars, PRACTISING sports (tennis, football, beach volley, golf, ski), videogames, manga, truck food, ethnic food, new recipes (ok well... let's say tasting FOOD in general), learning stuff by accident during conversations and arguments, and quite some more stuff...

Music, Movies, and Books

Irish music (from celtic tunes, to folk music, to Cranberries, U2 and Corrs), French chansonniers, il grande folk italiano (de andré, guccini, de gregori, and counting....) and soundtracks (both actual soundtracks or theme songs).

I just have TOO MANY favourite movies, over all the genres (except horror movies).

Books, uhm... Hesse's Siddharta, Zafon's Shadow of the Wind, Paolini's Eragon serie, Hitchhiker's guide to the Galaxy, Rowling's Harry Potter serie, Weis's and Hickman's Dragonlance serie, Joyce's books and well some other stuff I don't remeber right now but there are a lot of books I loved.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Most of the stuff is related to my Motorbike trips...
- I recently had a tour that touched 11 countries for a total of 8'000km in a month across Europe and I really felt good about managing to it on my own.

This is what, as of now, I felt like the most amazing thing I managed to do... I sometimes feel like having done something great ... but then the emotion fade... I'll try to keep having only ONE thing in this list.

Teach, Learn, Share

To teach: not a lot... tasting wine, brewing beer, Physics, some Sociology, Irish History and Irish Mythology, touristic info about Ireland and Italy(especially Torino), some other useless stuff...

To learn: whatever I can. In the near future at least another foreign language at a decent level

To share: time, for sure.
