About Me

If you google "Karo", it is a brand name of a corn syrup; it is also a minority tribe in Ethiopia. But in my case, Karo is a homo sapiens made up of XX chromosomes, some Wild sauce and a spoonful of Adventurous spice.

My ultimate aim is to have my life written off as "Karo's Crazily Exciting Adventurous Life", in bold capital letters with multiple exclamation marks.

============================================================

Currently in New Zealand on a working holiday. Helloooo, kiwis (the people), kiwis (the fruit) and Kiwi bird!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet people around the world so I can get to know about their local lifestyle, learn their languages and history of the place, and also some tips on which non-touristy places to go to, like some secret local hang-out spots.

Interests

- Exploring new places
- Taking photographs, be it digital or analogue, and documenting little (crazy) details in life
- Doing outdoor activities such as: hiking, surfing (still learning), cycling, roller-blading...etc. Would really love to learn skiing as well!
- Appreciating good art, food, musics and films.
- Reading a good book

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Any kind of genres, really. From Little Dragon to Nirvana, from Foals to Arctic Monkeys, from John Mayer to Bloc Party, from FKA Twig to Tame Impala, from Jack Johnson to Metallica...you get the idea. As long as it's good music, what's there not to like?

Movies: "500 Days of Summer", "Once", "Elizabethtown", "Before Sunrise" trilogy, "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind", "Garden State" and etc. I love a good movie with a good script.

Books: "The God of Small Things" by Arundhati Roy

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- Travel solo in Laos for the first time and met some interesting characters along the way (an old guy in his 70s offered himself to be my sugar daddy...uhm no thank you??)
- Slept on the street in Luang Prabang just to save a night's accommodation (ok this is more to stupid than amazing, but still.)
- To be continued...

Teach, Learn, Share

It would be awesome to learn how to ski, surf, skate or any other sports, or how to play guitar, or learn how to cook local dishes. :D
We can exchange travel stories and tips, or share good musics and movies.
If you need to learn Chinese or Malay, I can teach you :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

Coffee, tea or wine maybe?

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Indonesia, Laos, New Zealand, Singapore, Thailand, Viet Nam
