About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Beginning my professional life..... in CHINA! WHOOO!

ABOUT ME

I graduated college in May 2007 with a degree in psychology and French. I love food and love trying new foods (I don't understand picky eaters, honestly), and languages, ooooh I love learning random words and phrases in new languages. I'm moving to Shanghai, China in the fall for work and school, so I will soon have a couch for surfers!! Whooo!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

This definitely made my one-month backpack trip in Europe far more enjoyable! I met a bunch of couch surfers when I was in Europe, but I haven't done much since I've been back in the US. Maybe I should start meeting CS'ers in the area....

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

A grand old time! I got to stay with a CouchSurfer in Vienna, Austria, and then party with a whole group of CouchSurfers at Oktoberfest in Munich!
I wish I had discovered this while studying abroad in Paris, but I'll just have to utilize it in the future to make up for lost time :)

Interests

Meeting people, traveling to new cities, shopping, online shopping, shoe shopping, food! (especially wine and cheese), tennis, travel books, crosswords, sudoku, movies, learning languages, helping people, volunteering

Music, Movies, and Books

Did someone say Harry Potter?! And Roald Dahl books will always be a favorite.
Jane Austen most definitely.
Psychology books, and recently I've been obsessed with travelling books and culinary books. I am now an expert on coffee, wine, cheese, and French cooking.
My next goals are steak and chocolate, and maybe beer :) i would probably be very amused by a bartending book.
How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie. it's not a self-help book, it's a seriously life-changing book.

My current music obsessions: Wang Lee Hom, Ne-Yo, Timbaland, Justin Timberlake.
My unconditional loves: AC/DC, Barenaked Ladies, Beck, Billy Joel, Cheap Trick, Coldplay, Elton John, Foo Fighters, Franz Ferdinand, Flight of the Conchords, Jack Johnson, Jason Mraz, Pete Yorn, Keane, Jet, Lauryn Hill, Michael!, Mariah! (90s Mariah, before she turned into a slutbag), Queen, The Who, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Sarah McLachlan, The Bangles, The Go-Gos, The Beatles, The Supremes, Diana Ross and The Supremes, Marvine Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Jackson 5, The Four Tops, The Temptations, and I'm missing some other one-hit-wonder Mo-Town group, I know it. Also: Debussy, Barber, Pärt, di Lasso, Gershwin, and Rachmaninov.

I love, love, LOVE movies, I have too many movies to list. But I shall try:
French: Le Fableux Destin d'Amélie Poulain, La Haine, Les Choristes, L'Auberge Espagnole, La Bataille d'Algiers, Le Crime de Monsieur Lange, Le Charme Discret de la Bourgeoisie, Hiroshima Mon Amour, Sous les Toits de Paris.
