About Me

CURRENT MISSION

have fun and seize the day

ABOUT ME

Hi! I'm Carolina, I'm a teacher and new to all this CS world. I found out about this travelling system because of my very best friend Kristin Trost, an active member in this community. I like reading, watching movies, listening to music, hanging out with friends and meeting new people. I love chatting with different people, especially if they come from all over the world. I love learning new languages as well. Apparently, I know some English, but I'm really into German now and trying to improve what I've learned so far as fast as I can. Of course, I would accept anyone's help in this quest because I'm also available for practising Spanish and/or English with anyone that has the need to learn them. I've come to notice that I love Santiago, and since my friend Kristin paid me a visit, I learned about Santiago and now I know different touristic places in this city, therefore, I'm perfectly capable of helping tourists to discover Santiago and its many wonderful places. Well, I don't know what else to add to my profile, except that I hope it's useful for all the CS members so that we can meet here and grab a coffee or something and enjoy Santiago!

PHILOSOPHY

Mmmm... I try to enjoy life as much as I can.Of course, there are times when I feel down, but I'd say I'm happy most of the time. I love my family, my friends and trying to learn from what I've been through as much as I can.Life is whatever we want it to be, and it's mainly our job to make it nice and fun.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Well... I can't offer a place for people to stay where I live, but I sure can meet with them, have a coffee or something and visit different places in Santiago, the city where I was born and I truly love. I enjoy meeting new people and helping them with whatever they need.I've had the opportunity to travel through my country using CS and I've come to love this community. I've only had positive experiences and I'd like to thank the person, or group of people, who created this system because it's just a traveller's dream :)Whenever I had some spare time, I'd love to meet  with you people and wander the streets in Santiago :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've just had positive experiences in CS and I hope to be part of that range of experiences with tourists from all over the world.

Interests

I love reading. I don't have a special genre I prefer but I know I don't like fantasy books like Harry Potter, though I deeply respect everyone's choices regarding books.Movies are great. I'm into movies that are based on true stories, or that deal with controversial topics, or that are funny to watch. I don't really like action movies, but it's not that I hate them either. I love documentaries and everything that makes you think about what you've just watched for a while. I also like sitcoms like The Big Bang Theory and 2 Broke Girls. Again, I respect everyone's choices regarding movies and TV series.Referring to music, I'd say I don't have a specific type of music I love, but I like classic rock, music from the 70's, 80's, 90's, and Chilean folk music. I also like Latinamerican rhythms such as salsa, merengue, bachata and cumbia, but then again, I respect everyone's choices regarding music :)I like drinking coffee at Starbucks - I think I'm a frappuccino addict - and having a nice conversation about almost anything :) - I'm a very talkative person, I'd say lol!

Music, Movies, and Books

I think I've already referred to this topic before. In case you missed it, go back to my Interest section lol :)- I'm lazy retyping info, though I could cut and paste it, but I don't think it's fair to find the same piece of info again and again. Anyways, I love reading, watching movies, listening to music, among other things :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Well, I think the most important thing I've done so far in my life is working in England as a Spanish assistant in a school in Brimingham. I lived over there for 8 months and travelled through Europe as much as I could. I learned so many things, visited so many different places and met wonderful people. I wish I could go back one day. I met my friend Kristin while living in England and it's thanks to her kindness that I was able to travel through the south of Germany, which I regard as one of the most beautiful places I visited in Europe. This experience changed the way I used to perceive the world because I realised the world is such an enormous place and it's filled with so many different people that I think we don't live enough to learn all about it.

Teach, Learn, Share

I think I'm capable of helping foreigners to learn about Chile, our customs and our history as a country. I can also help people with our language: Spanish. I can also offer some help in learning the meaning of the so many different slang words we use all the time.I would love to learn the very same things from the people I meet :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my time and the beautiful city I live in. This is staying this way until I get my very own place :)

Countries I’ve Visited

England, France, Germany, Italy, Scotland, Spain, Sweden, Wales

Countries I’ve Lived In
