About Me
Hi!
I'm Karoliina, life and people loving person from Finland, currently studying history in Scotland. I yearn for new experiences and learning new useful -and equally not so useful- things about life, universe and everything in between that. I love nature, easy-going people, cats (dogs, giraffes, my brother; the whole set) the ocean air, discovering new music, equal rights, summer nights, nerdy stuff, and many things unconventional and absurd
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
It has always been clear to me that I want to travel and see the world as much as I can. I've taken the first steps on this path by studying full-time abroad, and now, whenever I have time and means, I love to travel to new places, meet new people, and maybe, while doing this, (re)discover something long hidden and forgotten and something that I didn't even know had been missing. I guess you could blame this all on something like "roam the world and you'll find yourself"-bullshit, but I guess it wouldn't be too far from the truth...
Before this gets too introspective, I'll conclude; Couchsurfing is a budget friendly way to do this while meeting interesting new people all around the world!

Music, Movies, and Books
I could have a long discussion about this, which would lead to no definite conclusion...
Some of my favorite authors are Donna Tartt, Terry Pratchett, Charlotte Bronte and Andrzej Sapkowski
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I had a big water balloon fight in an old Scottish castle which I, by accident, won (I'm not used to coming first in anything associated with sports so I'm quite proud of this)!
Teach, Learn, Share
I can share weird history facts just about anything and if that's not your thing (many find them interesting, I swear) I can share good music, some dark Nordic humor and teach how to make the best sangria in the world (not exaggerating). Cooking isn't my strongest suit but I've got one or two dishes I can make if you're feeling adventurous enough! Apart from that, I want to learn to skate, surf, draw, and speak Arabic. I'd also love to know what music people in different countries listen to, books they read, and the unique everyday customs that seem so very ordinary to them!
Countries I’ve Visited
Belgium, Denmark, England, Estonia, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland
