I’m a relatively chilled out and easy-going person who likes to learn new things, travel, and meet new people. Researcher/academic teacher by profession, finishing my PhD degree in molecular spectroscopy. Not the easiest job but apparently I like challenges 😅

Introverted but sociable. I can be a life of the party but then recover from it for two days. In my spare time I enjoy listening to music, singing, hanging out with friends, watching and playing sports (I still play volleyball in the university team). I like spending time outside, e.g. going for long walks, cycling, hanging out in the park, but I also don’t mind staying home with a good book/tv series.

I’ve been to a few places in Europe, either with friends or on my own. To me, it’s best to discover new cities and landscapes by walking around, eating food, in general feeling the vibe :) Traveling is so much fun, especially if you meet new people along the way. Long conversations about life is what I like the most (but not too philosophical, I’m a scientist 😂)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think it’s important to help others discover new places. You gain so much in return!
In general the idea of CS is great. It gives you an opportunity to see other places from the locals' perspective, to learn, share, make friends around the world.

Interests

I like sports, especially volleyball. I used to play it more professionally in the past. I love watching different sports, apart from volleyball also tennis, athletics, ski jumping (very popular in Poland).

I can play the piano and I find classical music beautiful. (Update: haven’t played in a long time but I think I still remember how to play a couple of pieces).
Sometimes I like to experiment a bit and cook something new. Feel free to introduce me to your country’s cuisine :)

Music, Movies, and Books

I have a weird music taste which depends very much on my mood, I mainly listen to pop music (in English or in Polish), EDM, sometimes rock, trance, occasionally hip hop. But there are times when I enjoy ballades or classical music.

Movies: The Shawshank Redemption, Limitless, Avatar, Martian, Good Will Hunting, Interstellar, Gravity, The Tourist, Girl Interrupted, many more...

Books: Tess Gerritsen, Harlan Coben, Lee Child, Agatha Christie, mainly detective stories but also thrillers and psychological books.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I’m curious about other cultures, ways of life, languages, landscapes. I can cook for you, take care of your pet, help with house chores, etc. We can share our CS and travel experiences, or in general have a nice conversation.
