About Me
ALL of the below needs an update in 2024 now :) - but feel free to read about me! It;s hilarious when I read what I wrote back then :)))
(Please read till the end and send me the hidden code when you request to stay! This will tell me you read about me !)
I am a recent addition to the CS community (Aug 2015) and I cannot believe it I did not know about this considering I love to travel. Anyhow, I am a graduate student currently (but graduating soon - Dec 2015) in Oklahoma and as an international student, I feel like I'm living a dream, every moment of which is so awesome!
I initially came to this country with money being one of the biggest motivators (you know the regular - get a good technical degree, find a good desk job, work 9 to 9) but I think I'm more an experience seeker now than ever before.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Well, I am starting with my CS experience as a student who is visiting places for interviews. Although most companies would pay all expenses including hotels, I think I would rather stay with fellow CSers and actually get a good glimpse into the cities I visit, lives of different people, activities that I would never do otherwise etc.
Once I settle down, my first goal will be to start hosting stays. Next I would start traveling for the experience and not interviews and always always stay with CSers.
Interests
I am an outdoorsy person and would be up for anything. In particular, I'm a keen swimmer, underwater diver, badminton player, appreciate soccer, camper and surfer (still learning). I like to hit the gym when I am unable to do any of the above.
Besides these fun things, I am passionate about my field of study - Analytics. It's fun to flip data around.
Music, Movies, and Books
I'm not a big movies guy and it's been over 10 years I have owned a tv or even a Netflix account. I have read some books and from that experience, I would say I like James Patterson kind of thriller novels a lot.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I did a solo trip to Mexico in Spring 2015 just to learn how to kiteboard.
Hidden code is ...
I worked for a local kiteboarding school and funded my trip. Checkout the video here, it's awesome: http://on.fb.me/1MQ1fHr
