ABOUT ME

My partner Michael and I became landowners in Feb 2019! We strive to responsibly steward our 10 acres in Blanco, TX. We currently raise microgreens, quail, and chickens. We are taking gradual steps to encourage land hydration and stop erosion over time. Our passion is land healing, though all the necessities of running a business and raising a small child often take the foreground.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I love it- Without it, there are so many colorful wonderful people I never would have met! Normally it is rare to meet someone you click with right away, but with Couchsurfers it is a frequent event. I suppose that is because Couchsurfing is all about building hospitality, open-mindedness and generosity across cultures.

Interests

playing the piano/ukulele, singing, cooking/baking, learning to do/build new things, meeting people who can surprise me, reading (good) books, watching (good) movies, working with my hands, playing around with my kid and/or dog, planting things, mulching things, swimming, running around yelling, jumping, climbing trees, lounging, to name a few.

most often, i enjoy media that is a unique and creative expression of an artist who has something substantial to say.

some books/authors i like: herman hesse, d.h. lawrence, kurt vonnegut. in recent years i have moved on to books about land stewardship, soil health, evolution, eco-history, etc. I also enjoy literature that gives me new perspectives on humans and our role on our planet.

Teach, Learn, Share

I would love to both teach and learn about how to cultivate the Earth productively and responsibly. I want to learn more languages and also learn to speak the ones I know better. I want to learn how to play various instruments. I want to learn more about how things work. I can teach you how to make delicious bread and goat cheese.
