Overview
About Me
Complex and unpredictable. Bit clumsy, bit too fervent at times, too sheepish other times.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've been surfing a bit around Holland and always had a great time and met great, interesting people full of good spirit whether in Rotterdam, Utrecht, Amsterdam or in smaller dutch towns :). I didn’t have much possibility to host while living in London and Bolivia because of flatmates but got one opportunity and it was a good enough for my surfer to want to drop on my couch again when he returned to London. At the moment I am travelling till November but am looking forward to hosting when I am back in Warsaw.
I have had a bit of a break from couch surfing because of a negative experience with another surfer - never a host! - and then the pandemic but very much miss the experience of meeting local people when travelling so decided to return.
Interests
I am interested in and fascinated by a lot of things the world gives us: music, art, cinematography, culture, dark chocolate, wine, anthropology, sociology, psychology, cats, food, veganism; nature.

Music, Movies, and Books
I am good whether swinging jazz, zoning away to classics on piano, my favourite band from teen years Sonic Youth , I can go noisy with health or merzbow, lose myself in space to the likes of Tim Hecker or god is an astronaut and more recently got into 90s and early 00s R&B too. David Bowie, radiohead, led zepellin, the cure and sigur ros are probably my tops when it comes to the more famous rock giants. Writing this is quite difficult as I don’t like choosing favourites.
Books pile up on my shelves as the universe flies, like the way they look, like the way they smell and also read them at times though I accumulate more than I can physically read. Kazuo Ishiguro’s Never Let Me Go made a big impression on me when I read it many years ago as did Micheal Taussig’s Shamanism, Colonialism, and the Wild Man: A Study in Terror and Healing and some of the stories in Raymond Carver’s collection What We Talk About When We Talk About Love.
I love films. I mostly watch them alone or with my partner, but I do occasionally enjoy a movie night with friends. I don't think I would be able to single out film directors , this changes so much and I like things for so many different reasons. Two movies I often turn to when in need of feeling better are tragicomedies like Szifron's Wild Tales an He Died with a Felafel in His Hand - based on a book, from New Zealand, directed by Richard Lowenstein. From the classics I believe Fellini's 8 1/2 is an absolute masterpiece and Greenaway's The Cook, the Thief, His Wife & Her Lover also struck a chord in me. I also find his Drowning by Numbers brilliant
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Amazing is very relative, might be the sunrise for one, another needs a volcano erupt in front of them.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am an anthropology nerd so can share info about funny rituals and bizzare cultural customs or say long quechua words. When it comes to learning I am interested to learn about almost anything.
What I Can Share with Hosts
For Hosts: Company - but also personal space when wanted! - vegan cooking, language exchange and help around the house with anything needed.
For Surfers: The above and I can show you around the city of Warsaw.
