About Me

Born and raised in Denmark. Childhood in s small town called Skagen and since I was 22 years old I´ve been living in Copenhagen, the capital.
I lived for two years in the Philippines and hope to live abroad again.

Every person has a unique story to tell I wanna hear your story if you wanna share ;)
Small talk is fine but gets boring if that´s all there is....

I´m a very social person and am always looking after new adventures and crazy stuff - bring it on!!
I´m told that I´m easygoing, fit in most places, and can take care of myself if you are busy....

"Passion and courage" - Find your passion and have the courage to pursue it :-)

To save our planet we don´t need more brain - we need more heart!!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My home in Denmark is not CS-friendly so I´ve only hosted a bit while living in the Philippines. When surfing I´m never just looking for a free hotel!!

I fell in love with a local CS host in the Philippines and we traveled the CS way a few times together :-)

I often travel alone and when I discovered CS in the summer of 2015 it really filled out a gap I did not know existed in my traveling...I had been trying to meet locals and to some extent succeeded but when I met the special breed of CS people my traveling just rose to another level.

I love the concept and I really feel I become a better person and am truly enlightened whenever I met new people from different countries and cultures. Most people I have met on CS have put a long-lasting impression on my soul.

Meeting people from around the world is much more giving than seeing the stuff their countries have to offer......even though those things also can be quite nice ;-)

I am completely in love with the CS way of traveling :-))))))))

Interests

In my youth, I did a lot of sports like soccer, gymnastics, running, and swimming
In my older days, I have been cycling a bit and into scuba diving

Overall I just really like to meet new people, discover new cultures, and expand my horizon through intercultural talks and discussions with interesting and open-minded people.

  • scuba diving
  • cultural exchange
  • people with a passion
  • curagegous people
  • breaking new ground
  • seeing things grow
  • being enlightened through talks

LISTEN TO THIS ONCE IN A WHILE AND YOU WILL NEVER BE FRUSTRATED ABOUT LIFE!!!

In my youth, I was into Heavy Metal like: Black Sabbath, Ozzy Osbourne, Metallica (the old is best!!), Motörhead, Iron Maiden, ACDC, Alice Cooper, Slayer, Guns N´ Roses, Nirvana, Rage Against The Machine.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sorry but can´t stick to only one :-)))

Started a youth organization for young people with mental issues and it has given many a second chance in life.

Arrived in Kathmandu, Nepal two days after the earthquake in April 2015, and instead of my planned hiking trip, I made my own small relief project. I rented an off-road motorbike and went to the tent camps and the small villages in the Kathmandu valley and a couple of more remote areas in the mountains. My mission was to put smiles on people's faces. I played with children, had small English teaching sessions, and gave away footballs and other toys, pens/ paper to practice their English skills. It was an "out of this world experience" for me and I was forever another person. Collected 2-3000 Euros from friends and relatives.

Despite everyone telling me not to travel to Haiti in 2016 I did. I met fantastic people in Cap-Haitien, Port au Prince, and a short trip to Jacmel. I experienced the extremely impoverished and densely populated commune of Cite Soleil firsthand. My heart bleeds for the local population, who live in extreme poverty and they never really recovered from the horrible earthquake.

Driving a motorbike in many different parts of the Philippines for two years without dying :-)))
Pretty sure I´m the only white person who visited all 81 provinces in PH. In Sulu province, I had military protection 24/7. I had an NGO "smuggle" me into the city of Marawi because it was closed for visitors after the "Siege of Marawi". Being detained by the local police for more than 24 hours just a few kilometers from where the Mindaganau massacre took place. Traveled more than 6800 km in 45 days visiting 28 provinces on a motorbike in the Philippines with my girlfriend at the back. Liveaboard Scuba diving trip to Tubbataha Reef in the Sulu sea, PH
Most of my PH adventures are in my FB: https://www.facebook.com/kasselasse

Visited Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant twice.
Been to maidan square just a few months after the 2014 revouloútion when it was still occupied.
I visited mental hospitals both in Ukraine and Nepal and that was quite an experience!! People were held like aminals :-(

Some say I´m adventurous and some say I´m crazy hehe.....

Teach, Learn, Share

Right now I´m improving my German language which I had many years in school but I suck :-(
In the future, I wanna learn a new language maybe Spanish or French!!
