ABOUT ME

Howdy kids. I'm a total noob at this, so please bear with me!

A bit about me: I'm a country girl at heart who, for some reason, made New York City my home for the better part of the last decade. I was in a glam rock band, lived in somebody's closet, had a homeless man shake his weiner in my face on the subway--the general ""New York City experience". One morning I woke up, thought, "What am I DOING??", and skedaddled. I traveled around the world last year and had a pet street dog in every city I visited. I spent most of my time volunteering with animals in several countries, and used the HelpX website to meet and stay with local families. Back in the states I've spent the last year working in Wildlife Rehabilitation after 6 years of creating crum-bum reality television for a living. I didn't want to wait for Karma to catch up with me!

While I'm an outgoing, playful and funny gal, I imagine I'm also one of the most considerate people you could host. I think it takes a special kind of person to open their homes to strangers, and I will never undervalue that generosity! I believe CB is an exchange--you offer me a place to sleep, and I'll thank you by buying you some drinks, cleaning your bathroom or making you dinner. Something for something, not something for nothing!

Fun facts:

No cavities! All my natural teeth! Fully inoculated!

I laughed too close to a monkey in Vietnam and he shoved his whole arm down my throat and then eagerly sniffed all his fingers.

I've driven a race car (very badly).

I've had my stem cells harvested for the bone marrow program.

Scary movies REALLY scare me.

Two things guaranteed to make my insides explode: Pizza Hut and Chinese food.

I learned to scuba dive specifically so I could get over my fear of the ocean and sharks. And it worked! Haha, just kidding, sharks are still terrifying.

I got Dengue Fever from a mosquito bite in Borneo, and spent 3 weeks sweating and shaking in a room I rented above a pub in a dusty town in the Australian Outback.

I love pubs. The dumpier and divier the better!
