About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Trying to meet really cool people from all over the world so I'll have couches to sleep on when I travel, too.
ABOUT ME
I'm a bubbly, easy-going, curious person always excited to meet new people and always up for an adventure. I drive an orange Prius nicknamed the "Mangomobile" by one of my co-workers, and I have driven that thing all over the United States with no plans of stopping any time soon.
I spent a year as a crime reporter at a daily newspaper in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and then two years as an editor for an outdoor industry trade news site called SNEWS. Last year, I left my job to freelance full-time with the hope of traveling the world. And now I am finally starting to do that :)

Music, Movies, and Books
All-time favorite book: Bossypants, by Tina Fey
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Running and jumping down the Great Sand Dunes in Colorado has got to be one of the most incredible things I've ever done. The dunes are hundreds of feet tall and it takes a whole lot of effort to get to the top, but once you're there you feel such a sense of amazement at how our world can possibly be so beautiful and rewarding.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love to learn new languages and am always more than happy to trade some English vocabulary words for the beginnings of something new for me. I'm a writer by nature and by trade and am also always willing to proof read and give feedback on whatever interesting stuff you're working on at the time. Things I perpetually love to learn include cooking, yoga, and how to make that completely random but totally awesome crafty thing you made ages ago and have displayed in the living room.
What I Can Share with Hosts
We don't have all that many "traditional" foods in the U.S., but I am happy to cook dinner for you or take you out to dinner at a restaurant in your town!
I can also help you practice English, if it's a language you're learning, and help you with any trips you're planning to the United States. I've visited almost every state (just seven more to go!) and a couple dozen national parks, and I know of good hikes all around the country.
Of course, you're also welcome to stay with me in Colorado if you ever visit :)
