I currently live in Tahoe, California and I am a Spanish teacher. I love skiing, mountain biking, hiking, dancing, and traveling. My grandfather is from Santander and my mother is from Havana, Cuba. I studied in Granada in 2007 and fell in love with Spain. I just spent this past summer volunteering in Guatemala working with some of the most impoverished children in the country. After Guatemala I went to Cuba for 2 weeks, which was the most interesting country I have ever been to.
I am really easy going and love meeting new people!

Ahorita vivo en Tahoe, California y soy una maestra de Espanol. Me encanta esquiar, bicicleta de montaña, hiking, bailar y viajar. Mi abuelo es de Santander y mi mama es de la Habana, Cuba. Estudié en Granada en 2007 y me caí enamorada con España. Pasé este verano en Guatemala como voluntaria, ayudando los niños mas empobrecidos del pais. Despues de Guatemala fui a Cuba por 2 semanas, cual era el país mas interesante que he conocido.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am going to attend la Universidad Autonoma de Barcelona. I am moving from California and don't know anyone in the city. I know couch surfing is a great way to meet awesome local people and to get accustomed to the city.

Voy a asistir la Universidad Autonoma de Barcelona. Mudaré desde California y no conozco nadie en la ciudad. Lo sé que hay muchas cosas lindas para hacer en Barcelona pero tengo que buscarlas! quisiera conocer locales y acostumbrarme a la ciudad :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent some time this summer in Cuba, my mother's home land. It was an amazing adventure full of beauty, shock, lessons, and much more. It was an interesting time to travel to Cuba because of our new relations opening up. Cuba is an amazing country full of opportunities for the local people. I stayed with local families and learned all about their history and present life. I was able to visit the home where my mother grew up. It was much more than a trip, it was an eye opening experience.

Pasé este verano en Cuba, la tierra de mi mamá. Era una aventura maravillosa llena de belleza, curiosidad, lecciones y mucha más. Era un tiempo interesante viajar a Cuba por la levanta del embargo con los estados. Ojalá que Cuba llegue a ser un país llena de oportunidades para su gente. Quedé con familias locales en sus propias casas y aprendía sobre su historia y vida presente. Tenía la oportunidad a visitar la casa donde mi mama crecía. Era mucho más de un viaje, era una experiencia de apertura de ojos.
