About Me

Just an adventurous Canadian country girl who likes to meet cool people and do fun things :) I'm always keeping myself way too busy trying new hobbies and doing anything that piques my interest (everything). I'm ambitious, outdoorsy, and always approach new experiences with a positive, open-minded attitude.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My best travel memories include people I've met by chance, friendly strangers who helped turn travel mishaps into successes and taught me a thing or two along the way. I'm here to meet more of those people, make more memories, gain new perspectives, and share stories over a good meal. Connections are the most important thing in life if you ask me!

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to a lot of alt, rock, country, Spanish, and french music, sometimes I even throw in some sea shanties and classical to keep things interesting. I'm more of an audiobook and podcast gal though! I really like Ologies and Imagined Life for podcasts.

Not a huge movie person, but I loved Oppenheimer and I also really like the Sound of Music.

Some of my favourite books are The Book Thief, Endurance: Shackleton's Incredible Voyage, and The Order of Time, but any reader knows that's really an impossible question to answer. I'm big into historical (both fiction and nonfiction) at the moment!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In the summer of 2022, I did a semester abroad on a sailboat through a program called Sea|Mester. 40 days as part of the crew on an 88-foot schooner called Ocean Star in the Caribbean. I took Oceanography and Nautical Science courses, got a bunch of navigation and sailing certifications, learned to SCUBA dive, and became a certified rescue diver! Life on Ocean Star was definitely the most uncomfortable and challenging experience of my life, but I met so many amazing people and did so many incredible things that I'll remember forever.
