About Me

Hello dear people! My name is Katarina, but friends call me Katja (Kaća) I'm 23 yo psychology graduate and new on couchsurfing! If I could describe myself in few words, those would be open-minded, curious, empathetic, creative and a thinker.
I work as a tutor for high-school students at Petnica Science Center, I write poetry (I can show you my blog where I write, some poems are in English!) and I practice kick-boxing for some time know (before that I was a latino and standard dancer for 13 years). I like spending a looot of time with my friends, teaching others, dancing and going out, science and research, puns and humor and making new friends.
As a psychology student, I have an opportunity to meet people from all around the Europe because I go to Conferences abroad. Those experiences are maybe the reason why I can't imagine my life without constantly meeting other people and making friends, learning about new cultures and showing my country to other people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I believe that traveling enriches us, especially when you meet new people and having locals to show you places and I'm the happiest when I travel. Unfortunately, since I'm a student and I come from Balkan, it is not that easy for me to travel a lot and go to distant countries, but I give my best to try and make opportunities for affordable adventures by myself. Besides that, I realized that I need to be more brave in life, so I feel that being a couchsurfer and going into the unknown will help me develop as a person. Also, I am in love with my city and enjoy showing my hood to other travelers and friends :)

Music, Movies, and Books

I like Serbian music from all genres (listen to Marko Louis, you'll thank me later :)), Lana del Rey, Weekend, old French music like Edit Piaf, Russian national music, pop music, Eurovision, Coco Rosie, Eminem and many others.
Before Sunset, Sunrise and Midnight Trilogy, those are my favorite movies (I'm romantic, but the dialogs and philosophy in the movie bought me). My favorite book is "When Nietzcshe cried" from Irving Yalom, since I'm into psychotherapy and philosophy.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I performed different things in front of 200 people (or even more) at least once :D

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to dance (you choose between 10 different dances and a bit of Serbian national dance), statistics, how to cook interesting healthy meals, how to sing with your tongue (a really weird talent that I have). I can share my poems with you, make jokes, tell you all the things you want to know about psychology and human behavior and tell you about my country! I want to learn everything about your country and about you, what you like and what inspires you :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share Serbian food with you, stories about my country, knowledge, good energy, humor things about me and my poems :D
