I've worked as a teaching assistant, sailing instructor, researcher, waitress, timber framing assistant, snow shoveler, gas station attendant, service worker and nanny. I'm currently a gardener/horticulturalist, and probably will be one for the rest of my life to some degree.

I'm finishing my master's degree in medical anthropology. I'm interested in popular culture, why capitalism is bad but still better than consumerism and the government, artificial intelligence/technology and how people live.

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

I enjoy couchsurfing for the obvious reason of meeting wonderful people and also for economic reasons. There is something cleansing/focused about relying purely on positive will to get where you need to go. I would love to be that person for others as many people have been for me.

I like Lars von Trier and Ingmar Bergman films, Nietzsche, Woolf, Herman Hesse, Thomas Mann. I am currently reading The Magic Mountain. I like Spinoza, Good & Kleinman, Cooley, Mann's Faustus. And I plan to read Jennifer Egan next :)

Music, currently I've been listening to Kurt Vile. For newish music I like Warpaint, Angel Olsen, Sharon Van Etten. I have deep love for Captain Beefheart, Karen Dalton, Mountain Man, Talking Heads, Suburban Lawns and Sonic Youth.
