Kia ora I'm Kate. I see myself as an outgoing person who enjoys meeting new people and exploring new interests and places. I have taught health and PE for the past 7 years and am excited to travel Canada for the next year. I have a huge passion for the outdoors and am excited about the unknown adventures ahead of me this year.

I enjoy socialising with friends and having a cheeky bevy. Finally hung up my footy boots, but always keen on a social kick around and to get amongst new sports. Happy to participate or spectate 🙌

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think couch surfing is a great way to meet new people and discover special things about the places you visit that you cannot get from a tour. I would enjoy my experience a lot more by getting to know locals and building great friendships with many people from around the world. My trip would be more meaningful and adventurous than just being a typical tourist.

I am excited to learn about new cultures and interests of other people and if anyone was to come to New Zealand I would like to show them the same hospitality. I love meeting new people and discovering new things I think couch surfing is great for this.

Interests

Football has been a big part of my life on and off the field. I love the sport and especially the amazing mates I have made from it. Love this side of the game bringing people together! Hung up my boots this year but always keen to jump on the band wagon an play a social game or go watch and support.

Love the outdoors! Hence Canada. I can't wait to explore and have a little froth over the scenery. Always keen on exploring with people and sharing experiences! NZ I really enjoy going well-off grid, isolated and remote these are the places close to my heart.

Keen on a cheeky drink with people and love a live band! Bit of a bogan at heart, come from rural beginnings.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have scored a goal for my country in football against Tonga. Haha it was meant to be a cross from half way but miss kicked the ball and chipped the keeper instead. Being a defender I was pretty ecstatic about the outcome!

Have couchsurfed before, really enjoyed the cultural experience sharing stories and a locals knowledge of the places I visited.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my stories from New Zealand and one day hopefully host people who have hosted me and share Kiwi (New Zealand) adventures with them. If anyone is up for some outdoor activities you can count us in as well if you need someone to join you! Always up for something new and adventurous! Good banter is guaranteed! Extremely respectful of hosts and their place, can cook a lovely dinner and share a drink over some good food!
