I’m Kate, I’m 24 and I'm from the West of Ireland but I'm now living just outside of Dublin city.

I’m a student in DCU (I don't like saying mature student though that's technically the case) and I work in a bar. After three years of working in a job too boring to explain I returned to college to study something with no job security whatsoever.

"Drifting through life" would be an understatement... but I don't think I'd have it any other way!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

A friend of mine told me of the great experiences she had while couch surfing and I thought hey, I can have better experiences than that bitch.

But really it just sounded like a lot of fun.

Interests

I like to write which comes in handy because I study journalism. I love music, reading, drawing, road trips and travel but seeing as I’m on this site that last one's a given. I'm a member of a drama club and like being involved in plays and musicals and things of that nature. I've played basketball for years. Oh and of course I’m stereotypically Irish and so enjoy consuming the occasional alcoholic beverage.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music – anything from Irish folk to old school hip hop. I love live music and try to get in as many gigs and festivals as possible. Next up is Iceland Airwaves in November!

Movies – I’m not fussy but if you don’t like Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings you can’t stay with me. I kid, but you definitely get bonus points.

I love languages so I could teach you cúpla focail Gaeilge, and I could learn a few words of your native tongue, even if you only speak English, I don’t claim to know all the words yet. And ... Share? I suppose I could share.
