Overview
About Me
I am an American full time student in the Netherlands!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I have talked to many travelers along the way who constantly question why I haven't joined couchsurfing... and at their behest and with their encouragement, here I am! So yes, I am a new to couch surfing, but fortunate enough to be experienced in travel. Also lucky enough to have spent much of my earlier travels staying with friends who are locals (like Kenya, Jordan and Syria). Sharing a destination with someone who knows it well is, to me, the best way to get to know a place.
Interests
Obviously, I love to travel. In 2015, I quit my job and took off around the world! But I am also a novice foodie who loves to cook, I love music and theater, movies and reading, and am a bit of a sucker for history and science.
Living in the Netherlands has been surprisingly amazing... I feel really at home and am hoping (once I graduate and am not a broke student anymore) to take advantage and see more of Europe.
I also loved my old job - bartending. Always up for being the hostess and creating a few cocktails for the party to enjoy!

Music, Movies, and Books
Music tastes run the gammut - I am currently listening to Miles Davis, but also love Kings of Leon, Devil Makes Three, Lucius, Young the Giant... and Maroon 5! I suppose the only type of music I can rule out is scream-o rock stuff. But hey, even that genre has a few songs I can appreciate!
Movies and books tend to err on the side of dystopian novels with vampires and zombies. Or the historical type... fiction mostly. Did I mention I'm super cool? Not nerdy at all.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
My experiences in traveling (across 6 continents) have been pretty amazing and I have stories from every genre to share (humor, romcom, drama... even a bit of horror).
Perhaps it's the impetus for my traveling life that is the most amazing... backpacking through Europe alone at 18. This was before cell phones... before the digital camera, and before the Euro. It was a different time.
Teach, Learn, Share
Oh man, well I am always happy to share travel stories (and nightmares!)... bartender stories (and nightmares)... and maybe a little bit of insider information on what its like to travel solo!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I do love to cook! Can't claim to be any kind of chef, but I enjoy it! I also know how to pair the right drink or cocktail with the meal and am always happy to share this skill!
